On the Move

This morning was another fun time with this busy boy. The weather was nice enough that we could play outside and all three cats joined us (although Aspen looks rather terrified).

Breakfast Date

It's been way too long since we've seen our nephew, Ross.  Usually, when we're in town, he's busy with work and we're busy grandparenting.

Today, though, was his day off and Kate, Banks, and I met him for a leisurely breakfast. It was so, so good to share hugs and catch up with this one!

Looking out of Kate's back windows this morning.

Hi, nice to meet you. Finally!

Banks (seven weeks old today!) finally got to meet his mama's mama's mama, called Grannie Rae by her great-grandchildren. We tried to work it out last month but the weather was wretched, flooding rains and storms.

Bo was ready to roll this morning when we told him we were going to Grannie Rae's house (and did NOT want to leave when he found out she has a golf car).

Mama and Bo see eye to eye. Banks is on the fence.

He's really checking her out.

Funny faces earn a grin.

Love, love this picture of my mama and her 5th great-grandchild!

Daddy would have been so tickled to meet this little fella who shares his middle name.

Miss Scarlett does NOT like the cold.

A roaring fire is her favorite...

...but if there's no fire, covers will do.

Monday, Monday

After we made a quick trip to Target, Mack settled in to study his family pictures. I made this book for him when he was just a few months old; every toddler needs one, I think. So cute to hear him try to say all of the names.

Then he spent a little time thinking about his future.

He's always up for going outside. I guess he thought the yard needed a little work.

He did manage some down time before a cat chasing session. No pictures of that; I was too busy blocking him from ending up in the pool!

Throwback: Cousin Wars

Kate and George, Jr., in 1985 at Sa and Gramps' house...just one of the many battles over the gate. Please notice the determined faces and identical stances. Also notice that no one is intervening (although someone, probably me, took the time to snap this picture!).

No worries; they got over it. Here they are in 1987, fast friends. I have no idea why they are in a styrofoam cooler, but I'm guessing their dads had something to do with it.
