Mullet? What mullet?

Kate asked me to bring my scissors last week so we could trim Bo's mullet hair when I was there. Now all that sweet sugar behind his neck is so much easier to get!

Last Week

I got to spend most of last week with this sweet boy and his mama while his daddy was out of town. He shows a definite preference for his phone, his books, his wooden utensils, and the car Aunt Ashley and Uncle Worth gave him for Christmas. At fourteen months, Bo is just about as busy as a little one can be. When it's time for a nap or bedtime, though, he is serious about his sleep. He's also serious about his meals and snacks; "more" is a word I heard several times!

Also, how great is it that my daughter and her family live in the same town as my college roommates? So fun to have breakfast with them this week.

Six Months!

We can't believe Mack is already six months old! If you want to see just how precious he is now, here you go.

So Many Books

The Bluestocking Society 'retreat' was this past weekend and no, we did not take even one picture of the group (sadly, we were missing two). We ate, laughed, shopped, and spent an extraordinary amount of time at the bookstore. We even managed to finalize the list of books we will read this year. So many books, so little time; we had to leave out a few that will go on our maybe-in-the-future list.

The German Hat

Sue sent this hat from Germany to Worth when he was about a year old.

It is nearly always the first thing Emma pulls out of the dress-up basket.

No other dress-up is required when you wear the German hat...

...but if you want to take it up a notch, pair it with your dad's old rec department football jersey and a woven scarf your great-grandmother bought in the Canal Zone in the fifties.

Stick a fork in me; I'm done!

I got my first job as a high school senior and in college worked for the civil service every summer. Even after retiring from education, I was given a great part-time work opportunity. Now it's time for me to focus on spending time with our aging parents, helping with and enjoying our grandchildren, traveling a little, working at home, and taking the occasional day to just be retired. After all these years, I finally have my dream job: homemaker!

Weekend Wrap-Up

The girls were with us this weekend; there was a lot of dressing up and walking babies and playing store...and more dressing up. As you can see, each has her own unique style!

There was even a baptism. Ellie was definitely paying attention when Mack was baptized two weeks ago!

While Emma and Ellie were with us, Ashley celebrated her birthday and five (maybe more?) trash bags of treasures were taken out of the playroom at their house. I have a feeling that Worth is really going to enforce the no-toy-with-more-than-five-pieces rule from now on!

When Ashley and Worth came to get the girls, E.W. got some Mack sugar. We decided Mack must have been quite confused/bored by the quiet this weekend with his sisters gone!
