Freeze It

It has outlived its life expectancy by more than a decade. We had small children when we got it. Now we have grandchildren.

The (remaining) door shelves have been duct-taped together for years.

Mainly, I could not bear to defrost that freezer AGAIN.

There was a sale.

No more defrosting.

No more duct tape.

Plenty of space for this year's vegetables.

Did I mention no more defrosting? Whoop! It takes so little to make me happy!

Cavaleri Time

Took this picture right before I left mama and daddy's this morning. Love spending time with them!

A Couple of Firsts

One of the bonuses of spending a few days with my youngest grandchild...getting to be there for a couple of his firsts!

Wait. You mean there's more to real food than rice cereal?

More sweet potatoes, please.

What is this buggy business? Where's the Moby?

Well, okay. I can do this!

My Date for the Weekend

Kate and Jay spent the weekend at the lake with some of her friends from college; first time Kate's been away from Bo overnight! I could tell he missed his mama and daddy, but we had fun just the same.

I do love to paint walls, but trim? No, thank you. However, I have picked up the brush again. Ugh.

Five Months

Two at Two

Last May I did a side by side of Ellie and Emma on their first birthdays. They don't look quite as much alike now but there ARE a few similarities between Ellie at two and Emma at two.
Both bounced!
Both thought their cakes were pretty yummy.
Both needed E.W. to pick up the pieces
at some point during the festivities.
Next year will feature an updated side by side by side when the Caboose has a first birthday celebration!

Pump it up!

Our pump organ was a wedding gift to my maternal grandmother from her father.  When Ellie and Emma were here last month for the Tift Green weekend, they became the fifth generation to pull the stops and bang the keys on it (although to be honest the first two generations, my grandmother and a couple of aunts, had actual skills!).

Next time I'll pull the piano bench over; the stools were NOT designed for perching on the edge...whoops (and sorry, Auntie Kate)!

Flashback about thirty years and you find their daddy and Auntie Kate pulling stops and banging on keys!

Won't it be fun to see the next generation have at it in about thirty years?

Play ball!

E.W. and I drove down to watch Ellie's tee ball game today. She's not much on defense, preferring to let the others tackle each other for the ball. However, her offensive skills are stellar; she can hit the ball and runs fast with those long legs!

If you need a visual, here's a few seconds of team defense. Ellie does have her eye on the batter. She just has no intention of fielding the ball!

Sweet Emma turned two today!

I'm pretty sure she had no idea what all of the activity and attention was about, but that did not stop her from jumping (literally) right in!

Mean ol' daddy wouldn't let Emma put her feet in the pool.
E.W. had to make it all better.

Two granddaddies at your command are better than one.

birthday brunch

Ellie was precious. She HAD to sit by Emma.

After bouncing, riding, running, playing, and brunching, it was time for the main event of any birthday party: cake!

Emma has no idea what is going on...

...however, she's a quick learner!

...I like being two!

Flashback Friday: Weejuns

Can't even remember the last time I wore these (can you say vintage?) but they are still fun! Even after a good many decades, the Weejuns are going strong.
