Good Stuff

December, 1981 ~ Worth and Tyson
July, 2009 ~ Tyson's son, Jake, and Worth's daughter, Ellie
The original Jake (Tyson's dad and E.W.'s friend) would be as pleased as we are that the friendship is entering it's third generation. Just look at that smile on Ellie's face!

Summer, Captured

It all began last Tuesday, with a trip to Sarah's. I've been watching and waiting for those peaches to ripen and today, yum, they were just right.

Perfectly ripe peaches are gorgeous.

The water's on to boil.

A quick dip so those skins will slide right off.

Ready for skinning, slicing, sugaring, and Fruit Freshing!

Ta da!

What Have We Learned Since the Eighties?

If you remember the eighties, do yourself a favor and check out Big Mama's list of WHAT WE'VE LEARNED SINCE THE EIGHTIES. Also, because I believe in full disclosure, I'm sharing my 'do from the 1985. Can you say ridiculous?

Sunday Swimmin'

This is what Ellie was doing Sunday...looks like it was a great day for Ellie AND her sweet mama (who shared this adorable picture with us).

Parents and Peaches

Back home from a wonderful visit with my's a self-portrait of mama and me (you know I have no vanity because I'm actually posting this picture!) before we headed out for some retail therapy!
Sunday evening we went to church service...via golf car!
(Aren't they gorgeous?)

This morning, mama and I went on a VERY IMPORTANT Sarah's Peach Shed. These peaches were picked this morning and I will be watching them carefully for JUST the right time to freeze them...four baskets full!

Just wish the road between here and there wasn't quite so long!

Ten Months Old

We can't believe Ellie is already ten months old! Click HERE to see her latest antics. Apparently a career in the performing arts is in her future...or maybe she'll be a veterinarian's assistant or a laundress.
Another important event today: Happy Birthday, Gramps! We love you immensely.

Five Minute Weekend

Jay and Kate arrived Friday night in time for shrimp creole and such...and we stayed up way too late. Saturday morning while the guys played golf, Kate and I went on Fabric Quest 2009 (with the goal of recovering two of her chairs). No luck with that, but we did find LPs at a great price and scored two free cantaloupes (if we told you how we did that, you would not believe it...)

Kate and Jay were off to a wedding Saturday night, but when they came home E.W. was grilling...steaks were so yummy.

This morning, E.W. had time to coach Jay before we all headed to Doublegate to have brunch with Sa and Gramps (yes, more delicious food!) before they headed on home.
I know we had a good weekend because it seemed as if it lasted about five minutes...

Fourth and Friends

Our nation's birthday...spent with friends at the beach...fireworks and patriotic music...taking time to remember the courage our forefathers had...and celebrating the land of the free and the home of the brave...

Pre-Fourth entertainment.

Preparing for the upcoming season.

So relaxed.

Under the tent...

...does it get any better than this?

The storm tried to tear up the tent...

...but we made it work.

The fun group.

St. Simons or the Jersey shore; take your pick.
