Quote of the Day

"People who have a fat flap should not let it ever see public light or air." In theory, the Junebugs would agree with the Scheiss Weeekly on this one. However, our motto is "If you don't like what you are seeing, quit looking at it."

Well, it started out as a marvelous day...

Three Bowers girls enjoyed spending time together at the tailgate.

The Bowers and Lewis sides of the family love each other, despite the fact that they have that whole Alabama thing going on. What a wonderful surprise it was for us to get a call from them in Athens! Mike, Jane, and Emily, thanks so much for coming to our tailgate! We hope you come back the next time the Tide is in town. As for the game, well, I'll let Coach Precious do the talking.

One Week Old

After a week in the world, Ellie continues her career as a charmer (check out those little tootsies!).

Our girl at one week (and her totally smitten daddy).

Blackout 'Bama

We are going to take a short break from thinking about Ellie :) to do some barking between the hedges.

Just chillaxing in the Boppy Lounger Jake gave me...waiting for tonight to get the party started.

Happy Anniversary!

To the pair who made it all possible (read: created the three sources of all the marvelous confusion we commonly refer to as the Bowers family!): We love you and wish you a very happy anniversary!

Busy Day

Today Ellie made her first trip to the pediatrician, met two of her great-grandparents, and made it through her first bath at home. Whew! Also, who knew Worth had potential as a cosmetologist?

Not a fan of going to get her foot pricked.

Daddy makes it all better.

Gramps admires his first great-grandchild.

Sa's pretty happy about meeting Ellie.

Cuddle time for Gramps.

First bath.

I might like it.

I might not.

A girl's gotta get her hair 'did'.

Two days old; look at that head control!

Ah. Rest, at last (until I feel like waking them up).

Freddie's Conundrum

I know I weigh three times as much as it does, but it still freaks me out. What is it, where did it come from, and when is it leaving?

Welcome Home

Elizabeth Tift Bowers, welcome to your life. You don't know it yet, but it's full of people who love you already.

All dressed up and ready for her fans.

The Take-Ellie-Home Committee

Wheeling out.

I can do this.

This afghan has covered four generations,
starting with Sa.

Freddie is so excited to meet his little sister.

Ellie gets home in time for the UGA football game.

Don't think Daddy Dawg could be any prouder.
Have you been noticing that big smile?

Auntie Kate. Still smitten.

Let's get that hospital bracelet off!

E.W., Tyson, Jake, & Worth

Twenty-eight years after they were babies together,
Tyson and Worth introduce their children to each other.

Holding that head up!

Little Ellie and her BIG brother, Freddie.

Lovin' this baby already.

Whew. They finally swaddled me
and put me down!

Happy Birth Day, Ellie!

Elizabeth Tift Bowers arrived at 1:16 a.m. CST, all six pounds of her! This photo of her with Ashley and Worth is just the first of many, I assure you. Right now, as the sun rises on her birthday, all the grandparents are headed to bed!

Update from later in the day: We are upside down from lack of sleep but have completely lost our hearts to Ellie. Here are a few pictures that might explain why.

Hey, where's my cozy place?

Petite Miss

Ooh, that bath feels good.

A momentary resemblance to my daddy.

Sweet feet!

Being born is exhausting.

Mama gets first dibs.

Then daddy.

Amos and his rude impression of Ellie! :)

Auntie Kate is smitten.

Mama and Daddy relax
while Ellie's fan club takes turns holding her.
