I love my cousin.

My cousin, Susan, and I have always had a special relationship. We were born six weeks apart and our mamas were closer than close, which meant that she and I spent a lot of our growing up days together.

Yesterday E.W. and I went to Charleston to join the celebration of her youngest son's wedding; we so enjoyed getting to be with that part of our family. Also? Susan looked gorgeous and her dress was amazing.  This morning we spent a couple of hours over breakfast with her and Tommy. Getting that down time with them was priceless and wish we could do it more often.

Oh, and just for fun, I'm also offering evidence of the first time we hung out together.

The Rest of the Day

After Grey's baptism, we gathered for lunch before the Athens crowd had to leave. The rest of the afternoon was spent just enjoying each other. It was a beautiful day.

On the terrace.

Even got Sa outside for a while.

The injured reserved bench.

These two found each other hilarious.

Playhouse fun.

These three had some sort of game going on...and Mack
did not let go of that old telephone the entire afternoon.

This makes my heart SO happy.

Emma had to hold Grey just one more
time before she left. Precious.

Grey's Baptism

Sunday morning Grey was baptized at the altar where his mother was baptized, his parents married, and his two older brothers were baptized. Surrounded by his mama and daddy, Bo and Banks, Uncle Worth, Aunt Ashley, Ellie, Emma, and Mack, Aunt Jill and James, CeCe and Big Jim, E.W. and Mia, Sa, and Carol and Wayne, he was welcomed into the family of Christ.

He was SO good and gave out lots of his trademark smiles. Sweetest baby!

What? I'm getting baptized?

Okay, guys...I'm ready!

Well, maybe I'm a little nervous.

Listening carefully.

I'm baptized!

Did you see that, dad?

Newlyweds

One thing I never doubted: my mama and daddy loved each other. Isn't this picture precious?

The One True Cat

Santa brought Fidget to Kate in 1990 (selected especially for her from our local animal shelter).

For more than sixteen years, she was a part of our family. Today (phew, what a hard day that was), she's been gone for ten years, but she's still the One True Cat. Putter and Miss Scarlett are good with that.
