Big Brother and Big Brother Again

It's going to be real interesting around the Berryman house in about five months

Bo already has this big brother thing down pat. Banks doesn't seem so sure just yet!

The Coach

The GSU Coaches' Caravan made a stop here last night; so impressed (once again) at how Tyson handles himself in front of a crowd. Can't wait to see some of that fire extend to the team on the field! We were TOO proud.

da coach!

down to me

Being an only child is a great gig...right up until it's time to make serious decisions about an elderly parent. Prayers, please?

That's what we're doin'.

Repairing the driveway is on the to-do list, but only after our next project is done. In the meantime, the sections torn up by roots of the now-gone trees entertained this pair of small boys for hours last weekend.

I guess that after the driveway is revamped we'll have to get a pile of rocks for them to load and unload!

Tift Green 2016: Part 2

Yesterday's rain finally stopped and Saturday meant golf for the men and an outing for the women and children. Ashley was in Athens on a girls' trip, so Ellie, Emma, and Mack were spending the weekend with her parents, aka Grandma and Papa. Serita asked if we wanted to meet the at the Agrirama. It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Cousins, second cousins, and siblings waiting for the train ride,
some with their ears covered in anticipation of the whistle! It's loud!

The big kids got a kick out of the turkey and his gobbling.

Emma is skeptical when Sue explains how to get water from the well.

Three grandmothers.

Mack was excited for us to see and pet the 'big cow'!

Future students in the one room schoolhouse.
Maybe Mack thinks the train is coming through
(or perhaps he's tired of listening to the schoolmarm?).

Waiting for the train to take us to the playground.

Emma showing off her monkey bar skills.

The original peanut was digging the tire swing.
Wonder if she can talk Papa into putting one in his yard?

Bo loved the swing...for about a second.

Emma was a fan, too, but preferred standing up. Daredevil.

Mack and Bo had to have help on the see saw.

Banks was just happy to be out of the stroller.

The big kids piled up to enjoy some Georgia peanuts before
we all headed home for lunch and naps.

Oh, there was also a golf tournament! The old men tied for third but placed fourth on regression, their sons placed third in their flight.

Tift Green 2016: Part 1

It was raining Thursday afternoon when family rolled in from Athens, St. Simons, and Chesapeake, but we were so happy to see each other!

Bo and Kinnick, the first of many rides.

A little rain doesn't bother Banks as long as he's got his club. Obsessed.

A little unhappy when the big boys took off with all the toys....

...but warming up in the laundry room sink = all's right with his world.

Better warm up those toes!

Friday morning was rainy, too, and we were all pretty lazy. By the time Worth got here (we missed Ashley and the kids!) the rain had stopped, allowing a little family golf and super important: ice cream churning.

Banks chills during lunch.

The 'big' kids and Kennedy

E.W. blowing off the terrace in the rain. Why?

Bo could not get enough of his second cousin, Kinnick.

Banks and Kennedy talked to each other all weekend...about something.

Late afternoon family golf.

Bo's swing...

...a high five from his dad...

...and his mama wants to know how he made such a great shot.
Banks is ready for his turn.

Uncle Worth supervises.

The cutest member of the gallery will be one year old in just a few days!

Bo gets a churning lesson.

This is not a great photograph but I love everything that's going on:
Worth and Bo churning, Banks dining al fresco, E.W. digging in the cooler...
everyone just being a part of the family fun even in the rain.

Waiting for ice cream

Notice the level of concentration. Momee's custard ice cream is no joke!
Thanks, Kate, for carrying on the tradition.

We all like it!

a tradition unlike any other

For over fifty years, thanks to my daddy, our family has been a part of a tradition unlike any other. What a privilege it's been.

Dinner at Grannie Rae's

The Berrymans joined us for bbq tonight; it was wild!

Banks, happy once the food started coming.

A little outdoor play on the hill at Grannie Rae's.
