Kiddos on the Move

Kate and Jay are in Colorado to cheer on the Dawgs, Ashley's in D.C. for work and play, and Worth and Ellie are headed our way tomorrow.  As you might imagine, there will be some photos posted of that last one. :)  As a bonus, Tyson is here tonight and is settled in the new dorm!

Big Sister

Just after her birthday last week, Ellie let us know that she is going to be a big sister! Now that it's up on their blog, I can tell the world that our family tree is sprouting a new branch! :)  The best part? Soon after the little monkey arrives, the whole gang is moving and will be less than an hour away! Can't wait.

Friday Night and Saturday Morning

Friday night... driving south with Kate... the two of us taking part in the initiation of a sweet girl from "the 'hood" into ADPi... and talking.

Saturday morning... coffee... lists... coffee... invitations... programs... coffee... centerpieces... toast... photographs... and, yes, more coffee. Kate and I spent a lovely morning going over wedding details; so much fun to help her plan!

Two!

Ellie turned two and her mama and daddy threw a party that included all the grandparents, lots of toddlers, and Sponge Bob! She's a big fan of the bouncy house but was lured inside with the promise of gifts and cake. As advanced as she is (I note this as an impartial observation - ha!), I'm pretty sure she couldn't read a word on any of her cards. That did not stop her from carefully studying each one before opening the gift - hilarious. It was a wonderful afternoon and we were thankful to be there for her big day. Happy Birthday, Ellie Bean!

Faux

One of the perks of being a faux grandparent is being invited to Grandparents Day at school. Thanks, MM! I love being your faux grandmother!

2010's First Tailgate

Finally. Football season!

Saturday's home opener, although the kickoff was a bit early for our taste, still provided ample tailgating for those willing to set their alarm clocks! With the addition of the bunch from down the hill (Jay, your friends = so much fun) our tailgate has expanded and we love it.

The Barracks (previously known as The Dorm)

Part of the upstairs painting and furniture arranging project is done (except no nails in the freshly done walls yet)!  Worth and Kate's former rooms have a more adult vibe and the room formerly known as the guest room is now The Dorm*. With three beds (one full and two twins) and the crib, it's ready for kids of all ages to enjoy, and that makes me happy!

Edited to add: The Dorm is now known as The Barracks, thanks to Jay!  Love the nod to the Army Brat childhoods E.W. and I had!
