E.W. and I left Birmingham and headed east, Classic City bound, with Joe and his crew close behind. We met at Jay's for an afternoon and evening of football, tailgate practice, decking the halls, and general merriment!
Football is serious business.
Joe "helps" Jay in the kitchen.
Why watch the big screen in the living room when we
can watch the small screen in the kitchen?
I think Scott likes his mama.
Cousins go on an emergency trip
to Wal-Mart for tree lights.
Kate works her magic.
Obligatory tree pose.
E.W. and Ellie when we arrived Wednesday.
Me: Ellie, where are you going?
Ellie: to church.
Worth fries the turkey...
...while Ellie gives E.W. a workout.
front yard play time
Worth carves the turkey; Ashley supervises.
Ellie explains; Jake is skeptical.
Childhood friends and their babies.
Walker, Ellie, and Jake
Friday morning - Mia and E.W. off to the Classic City.

Here are three and a half of the many reasons we are thankful today, although there are so many more. We're thankful for our parents and for time spent with them. Kate and Jay are with his mama's family and we are so thankful that she's becoming a part of another family who loves her. E.W. and I are blessed beyond measure.
(There's more to the 'happy' of this particular day; I'll share it when I get pictures.)
