They Tore Out My Heart and Stomped That Sucker Flat

Okay, so that title has been used before.  I don't think Lewis would mind; he was a Dawg down to the core.  Jay, Kate, and a slew of friends made the day of backyard tailgating a lot of fun...right up until that overtime fiasco.  Ugh.

Lookin' Good

As Ashley nears the end of her first trimester with BB2, it's obvious that we are going to have another charmer on our hands!  Can't wait.  :)

Misery

Thanks to Mary Ann, Misery was fun!  Amazing decor (notice Lucy at the piano), delicious meal, and great discussion made for a wonderful evening for the Bluestockings.  You'll also note that some Bluestockings carried the theme right into their attire.  Stephen King would be proud!

e-pix

Last month, Kate and Jay asked Kathryn take photos to celebrate their engagement. Some of the best ones were at the lake, where Jay proposed.

She's almost ten!

The first picture picture I saw of Patricia was probably taken around the time of her eighth birthday.  For the past  year and a half, I have been her sponsor through Compassion International and we've exchanged letters, prayers, birthday and Christmas greetings, drawings (her) and Bible verses (me).  I've just had that one photo so she's looked exactly the same all this time, a little girl with pigtails and a blue swirly skirt.  Imagine my delight when I received an updated picture taken at her Center!  You can tell she's a year older (she'll be ten in December!)...but that same sweet face is looking out at me.  I'm grateful to Compassion for the blessings Paty has brought to me...and for facilitating my sponsorship of her.  If you'd like to know what your $38 can do for a child, I'd be very glad to share more of my experience with you.  You can also learn what Compassion is doing by reading the Compassion blog.

Kinnick is born!

A while back, I told you E.W. and I were going to be great.  It's happened!  Today, just before noon, Kinnick Michael Sunderman made his way out into the world.  Welcome...we love you already...and congratulations, Sarah and Tim (who, yes, is a DIE-HARD Iowa fan!)!

Callin' the Dawgs

You've seen the photos...now here's a clip of Ellie from last Saturday.  What do you think?  Does she have a future on the sidelines?

Tailgate: The After Party

With a noonish game Saturday, there was time for another tailgate afterwards!  Jay and Kate set things up in Jay's supersized side yard which proved perfect for football watching, birthday celebrating, hamburger grilling, and pretty much everything that's right about America.

Finally!

A win for the dawgs!

Although our opponent is struggling this year (too), we take a 'W' when we can.  The tailgate was more fun than usual, with the addition of the B'ham bunch and a number of friends who were in town for the party.

Ellie had a blast but passed on the game, opting instead to nap and get ready for Tailgate: The After Party.

It's A Wonderful Life: Edition Athens Party

Thanks to some incredibly generous folks, Jay and Kate were the guests of honor at a poolside wedding shower tonight.  Our hearts are full.

(My facebook friends can see lots more pics there...)

The Alphabet

Here's some bonus footage from last Saturday...in case you haven't learned your ABCs yet!  Please note the L-M-N-O-P section...she does it like that EVERY time.

Weekend Wrap-Up

While Ashley was in D.C. for class, Worth and Ellie came to T-town.  There was golf for some and playing with grandmothers for others (!) and football for everyone.  Although the Dawgs were a miserable fail (despite the efforts of Kate, Jay, Wayne, and Kelli), we did have fun with family and friends.

But can we get this thing started?

I'm good; y'all do what you want to do.

Grandma and Papa stop by for a snuggle.

I must say, though...it's very quiet around here this afternoon.
