Neutralizing

Three bedrooms, three colors. Not any more. I spent a number of days painting the upstairs rooms a soothing shade of ivory. Ahh. Of course, I'm not one to just paint. No. Furniture had to be moved (more about that later) and carpets cleaned. I knew, that as always, one thing would lead to another.

Here's a glimpse of the farewell to roasted almond, dover white, and raspberry sorbet:

Weekend Randomness

E.W. and Jay bonding over the love of a headset and the hilarity of small town (and not even our small town!) Friday night football commentary.

Kate and Kate Marie are excited to be sisters, at last!

We'll just call this next one Left Behind.

The past week ...

florist ... cake discussions ... catering ... photo attire ... guest lists ... flatware ... reception ... centerpieces ... logistics ... and more ...

It's been a wedding planning week and we're headed into a wedding planning weekend. After that, though, a wedding break. It's time to get ready for the DAWGS!

There's No Place Like Home

We've been on the road again.

Fun but tiring.

As you've seen, I spent time with college friends; from there I went to my folks for a couple of days. In the meantime, E.W. was off with his guy group. Today, we're saying there's no place like home...

Memory Lane

We didn't make it to the lake this year but a few of us did manage to get to Athens for a few days (thanks Betsey, for hosting the slumber party!). There was a lot of laughter about the 'olden days' and some special reminiscing about Betsey's wedding. Let's just say some of us had blocked out the hood on the bridesmaids dress!

Bryna hadn't been back since college (she insists on living in Cali!) so we took her on a walk, rather ride, down memory lane. The campus has seen lots of change over the past (insert big number) years. We enjoyed a stop at the ADPi house and visited our young selves on the composites. What were we thinking when we got our hair cut like that?

Family Fun

Last Wednesday E.W. and I left for our second annual visit to Virginia for some family fun with George and Sue. This year we had more crazies added to the mix and it was fabulous. Kate flew in Thursday afternoon and Jay arrived a few hours later, thanks to a huge storm that diverted his flight. Niece Sarah's husband, Tim, was deployed last summer so it was big fun for us to get to get to know him; the two of them took Thursday and Friday off to play. The eight of us had such a great time and Sarah was a hoot with that baby belly! We ate and played games and talked and bossed each other around. It was incredible and we made some really special memories. Can't wait until we do it again!
